Production Facilities

Comprises of the following melting units:

• (A) 6MT Medium Frequency Induction Furnace (Twin shell)
• (B) 3MT Medium Frequency Induction Furnace
• (C) 1.5MT Medium Frequency Induction Furnace
• (D) 1.5MT Medium Frequency Induction Furnace

Moulding shops have all the necessary facilities like Sand Mullers, Moulding Boxes & Tackles, Patterns, Mould Drying Ovens, Compressors, Ladles of various capacities from 1000 Kgs to 6000 Kgs.

Assembly and Casting of Rolls are carried out in Casting
Pits of various sizes and depths.

Heat treatments are carried out where ever required in one furnace of 30MT capacity.

Temperature of the furnaces, during heat treatment cycles, are closely monitored and controlled.

The Machine Shop is fully equipped with Heavy Duty Machines of
the following type:

• 1. Heavy Duty Rough Turning Lathes
• 2. Heavy Duty Fininsing Lathes
• 3. Roll Grinding Machines with Taper & Cambering attachments
• 4. Horizontal Boring Machines
• 5. Wobbler Cutting Machines
• 6. Vertical Turret Lathe
• 7. CNC Machines

The shop is capable of machining Rolls up to 1200 mm in diameter, 5000 mm
in over all length and up to 6MT in weight.

The Plants are equipped with handling facilities in the form of E.O.T. Cranes of upto 20MT Capacity.

Quality Assurance comprises of Chemical Analysis, Plysical Testing, Metallograph and Metrology. The department is equipped with facilities for both Wet Chemical analysis as well as Spectroscopic Analysis, Ultrasonic Testing Machine, Microscope with accessories, Micrometers, Verniers, Dial Guages etc. for necessary controls of quality in all respects.
